Here are a few pictures from the weekend. We had a very heavy snowfall Friday night. It only lasted a few hours, but it was intense while it lasted. It took me almost 6 hours to get to Rockford and back in the storm (I shouldn't have been out at all). The only reason I got through was because I had our 4WD Pathfinder. I even passed two highway snowplows in the ditch - along with a semi and MANY cars.

Uncle Dougie and I went to Uncle Dave and Aunt Ginger's house on Saturday. Divya had a fever, so she and Mom stayed home. We saw a few of the Sellek clan: Uncle Larry and Aunt Leanna; Aunt Karen; Cousins Danny (and family, Darrel, and Greg (and family). It was a nice visit.

Divya's official birthday was Jan. 3. This year she turned 9. Today was the day we celebrated her birthday with school friends. We took 9 little girls to Funway Amusements (roller skating, bowling, putt putt golf, go-carts, bumper cars, and a game arcade - very family friendly environment, too) here in Batavia and the girls went bowling. Bowling is relatively new to Funway. It is a very nice facility. We thought of our Matthew, who always liked bowling. Matt, next time you're home, we'll go bowling. Divya got MORE presents - just what she needed. Among them a couple more Barbies (we thought of Matt here, too - he LOVES Barbies...)

A year ago, my bride gave me a thoughtful Christmas gift - an air compressor with nailer!! Since then I have been working on replacing old nasty carpet with nice clean wood. The completed room is the master suite. This officially marks passing the half way point in the project!

The half done room is Nate's room. As of today all the carpet is removed and about 3/4 of the floor is in. Nate, with the removal of the carpet, all traces of Cajun Catfish are gone forever!!

Today is January 2. This is the last day of being home together for break. One last round of errands and a little fun playing before all the responsibilities hit again. Tonight Jeni made "miracle chicken soup." Divya made little loaves of wheat bread. I live with such talented girls!

Hey Dad, sorry the dvd didn't work. I will try again.
